Every day Lex seems to be getting bigger and bigger. He's still not talking much which worries me but he's showing signs that he's learning. He runs, tiptoes, climbs, tackles the kitten to snuggle and pet him. Lex loves to give kisses and hugs and he's learned how to push himself along on his bikes. We are practicing coloring (and not eating the crayons) and cleaning up toys when we are done with them. I know these are all great things but I would give anything for him to say something other than dada, mama and nana.
Today I put him in a 2 year old size sweatshirt and he fit it, which just surprises me because I don't see how much he's grown until he outgrows clothes. Before I know it he'll be standing well above me, just like my little brothers.

Mean Ole Mommy!
I've gone to the doctor twice in the past week and I don't like it one bit! I went last week because Mom thought I had pink eye. I did, but the viral type so there was nothing she could do except warm compresses and wait it out. Then she takes me today and not only does the doctor have Mom pin me down to look in my ears and to make sure my testicles are still descended (really? they were there last time, they were there this morning when I was playing in my diaper... where could they have gone???) but I got 2 shots today. I know Mom says they are good for me but I don't like them one bit. It doesn't help that she took me to do this stuff during naptime, I didn't want to be there, I wanted to be snug in my bed with my blankets and Bedtime Bear. The assistant said I'm 22lbs and 8 oz and 30.75 inches, I guess that means I'm getting bigger. I kind of knew I was getting taller since Mom upgraded me to one pair of 18 month old pants since they have the adjustable waistband, the rest of the time I look like I'm waiting for the flood.

I'm such a big boy
Christmas has come and gone and I made out like a bandit. I got the bounce and spin pony I really wanted and lots of other toys. I got a drum and xylophone that is pretty awesome, a few books and some clothes. My Grandma Linn made me a super cool towel to go with the bath toys she got me, she must know I love bathtime.
Since Daddy is on Christmas break from school Mommy decided that we'll work on having me sleep in my bed without the guard rail on it. A few months back Mommy changed it from a baby bed to a big boy bed but put a guard rail on it to keep me from falling out. Last week she took the rail off and I've been sleeping in it like a big boy. The only "problem" Mommy says there is is that I don't stay in bed like I'm supposed to. I don't see why I have to lay in bed when I'm not tired so I get out and go play with my toys or find Mommy and Daddy. I have fallen out of bed a couple of times while sleeping but Mommy and Daddy are smart and put a couple of pillows and a blanket on the floor next to my bed to soften the blow.
Mommy says my next goal is to start talking. I don't feel the need to use words to tell her how I feel, she's pretty good at figuring it out. We play a game where she sits on the floor and opens her arms up wide and I run across the room to give her a great big hug and kiss. Isn't that more important than talking? Besides I'm more interested in learning how to use a regular cup than talking.
I have to go see my doctor on February 2nd for my 15 month well child exam, I'll be almost 16 months by then but it was the soonest they could get me in that didn't interfere with Mommy's work or Daddy's school schedule. Mommy has warned me there will be more shots then and I'm not looking forward to that but I suppose it's for my own good and Mommy promised to buy me another book. I like the books she's been buying me lately, they are board books and that means I won't accidentally tear out the pages reading them.
Well it's nap time off to dreamland I go! Happy New Year everyone!

Talking to Santa
Mommy and Daddy brought me to see Santa again this year and I told him what I wanted for Christmas and what I would like him to bring Mommy and Daddy. For Daddy I asked for some time off and maybe a video game or two. For Mommy I asked for some more time with me, and anything her heart desires because she's a good mommy. I asked for lots of toys and books and time with my parents and grandparents.
I hope everyone has a happy holidays and enjoys all the quality time they get with their families.

Mommy lesson #273
I taught Mommy a very important lesson this morning. She put me to bed in just my diaper and t-shirt last night and woke up to find me diaperless and a giant mess this morning. Silly lady just laughed at me and got Daddy to come help get everything cleaned up while she got me in the bath. At least she learned her lesson and won't put me to bed without something covering my diaper from now on.
Today we are going to Great-Grandma's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Mommy is all excited to see me eat all the good stuff. Jill at daycare says I like cranberry sauce so Mommy wants to see it.
It's snowing right now so hopefully we'll get to go out and play in it later.

Happy Halloween!
This Halloween was much better than last Halloween (last Halloween I was sick and spent the evening in the ER with Mommy and she was told I have pyloric stenosis, which was wrong I have and elongated pyloric sphincter which is only half the requirement for the diagnosis). This year Mommy and Daddy dressed me up as a lion cub and took me trick or treating at both of my great-grand
Oh and a side note, my buddy David is really sick with this thing called a Wilm's tumor and they have been treating it with chemo and he's supposed to have surgery soon but Mommy said he wasn't feeling so good tonight and they were bringing him into the hospital again. If I could ask and you are the praying type could you please say a few prayers for him? He's only a few weeks older than me and this is awful, no baby should have to deal with this and my Mommy is saying prayers for his Mommy and Daddy too, but every good thought helps.

Birthday fun
Last weekend was my birthday parties and Wednesday was my birthday so I'm a toddling one year old.
My first birthday party was at our house. It was a bit overwhelming since I went down for a nap when it was just me, Mommy and Daddy and woke up to a house full of people, some I haven't seen in months. I got lots of cool toys and some really nice clothes. Mommy gave me a cupcake and some ice cream and I proved how grown up I am by not getting much on myself.
My second party was at Grandma Linn's house. I got to see my cousins and most of my aunts and uncles and I played until I crashed in Mommy's arms. The car was ready to explode it was so full of stuff when we came home.
Mommy stayed home with me on my birthday and we played all day. I really enjoyed that time with Mommy since she's working so much lately that I'm at daycare more than the other kids (96 hours in two weeks).
Friday Mommy took me to see my doctor and get my one year old check up. I'm 21lbs 13oz and 29.75 inches tall and for some reason the doctor doesn't think I'm growing like I should so we have to go back in 3 weeks to see her (and get my other flu shot). At that time she's going to run another lead test because even though it was normal it was still in the high range and that makes her nervous... I think she just wants to poke and prod at me some more. Oh and someone is finally taking Mommy's concern that I have reflux to heart, apparently Mommy does know something, that a one year old shouldn't be spitting up...
We got good news from Gwen today. Ratchet was on a plane to come home to Minnesota! Looks like I'll get to meet him after all!
